Ivor Tymchak has been at various times an artist, a filmmaker, the writer of a strip cartoon that appeared in Sounds music paper, a front man for a rock band, a graphic designer, a live caricature artist, a speaker, a presentation skills trainer and an author. He is also the co-founder and organizer of Bettakultcha.

His favourite piece of trivia to drop at parties (which he rarely attends because no one invites him) is that he was at the Sex Pistols’ last UK gig, in Huddersfield on Christmas Day, 1977.

Ivor’s previous publications include the comic book Life and How to Live It, the film How to Care for Your Hamsters, and a children’s book, Maggie, the Magpie that Couldn’t Fly.

Ivor’s new book, Sex and Death and Other Stories, explores some of the biggest ethical and technological issues facing us in our modern lives, producing tales that twist and turn with the kind of macabre shocks that distinguished Roald Dahl’s stories in his stinging collections Kiss Kiss and Switch Bitch.

Sex and Death are two fundamental forces that shape our lives.

Beyond these forces, what does anything else mean? Ivor Tymchak

explores possible answers in this collection of  short stories.

'The Time Traveller' looks into a human mind damaged by age.

'Survivor Score' speculates on how technology might keep us safe - or not.

'Ten Thousand Light Years from Home' takes us on a very dark adventure.

'The Cult of Motivation' explores the ethical issues around professional speaking.

'The Delivery' offers some useful advice on how to bury an unloved one.

These and all other stories ask hard questions about life but refuse to

provide the expected answers. It's entertainment, Jim, but not as we know it.
